Environmental Wellness is concerned with both environmental hazards and the growing incidence of food allergy. It seeks to preserve and enhance the quality of human environments (both social and work-related) and prevent the harmful effects of environmental toxins, including chemicals, air and water pollution, radiation, sensitizing substances, and communicable disease. It includes occupational, climatological, and social environmental concerns. In addition to addressing individual aspects of these experiences, group, community and societal concerns fall under this specialty’s purview, with an emphasis on improving the environment in which people live in order to enhance health.
As part of the Detoxification Coaching program, in this course you will learn to assess the environmental factors that could be contributing to your client’s state of health. You will learn how to investigate and discover insidious exposure to electromagnetic fields, water pollution, air pollution (including second-hand smoke), radiation (e.g. microwaves, living near power lines, etc.), chemicals (e.g. pesticides, cleaning products, etc.), mold, heavy metals, sick building syndrome, etc. Vulnerability to any of these factors could manifest as allergies, arthritis, chronic fatigue, skin conditions, or various forms of cancer. You will understand the impact of environmental factors that could affect your client’s state of health, along with methods to create a healthy environment.
